Pictures that prove that no matter what you think, or say your cat just refuses to believe they are too big for that box
It appears as if felines are powerless to resist the call of a cardboard box. But there is actually science that has been done, that may provide us with a clue about our crazy cat behavior.
It’s just a fact of life that cats like to squeeze into small spaces. They feel much safer and more secure when they believe there is no room for anything else to get me. Instead of being exposed to the clamor and possible danger of wide-open spaces, cats prefer to huddle in smaller, more clearly delineated areas.
When young, they used to snuggle with their mom and litter mates, feeling the warmth and soothing contact. Think of it as a kind of swaddling behavior. The close contact with the box’s interior is believed to release endorphins — nature’s own opioid drug that produces a short-term high — causing pleasure and reducing stress.
No behavior is unique to any one particular sex, and it seems to matter not if they had been neutered or not. Seeking small spaces is part of cats’ behavioral repertoire, and such spaces are generally good for the cat because it reduces any stress they may have.
So go ahead and laugh at your little feline friend expense... They are having a grand Ole time.
