The China Microchip Canine Initiative Marc Ching Announced won't save one dog from being slaughtered in YulinIn the past, we have heard of rescue organizations wanting to microchip dogs. They wanted to prevent the butchers of Yulin from getting their hands on stolen pets but knew this idea would fail. Marc Ching heard about it too and then stole the idea, called it his own and sent out another one of his "BIG announcements." End Yulin already realized due to its limitation that microchipping was doomed to fail. But there was nothing wrong with people trying on a small scale to hopefully find a way to make it work. As the saying goes "There's no harm in trying." Julia de Cadenet founder of Notodogmeat.com tried a small-scale test, the results weren't promising. While it may have been a valiant attempt, no matter how much planning you do, It would fail. You'll never be able to overcome the problems associated not only with the Microchipping system flaws but China as a whole. When our favorite self-promoting jackass Marc Ching announce his big "China Microchip Canine Initiative" all I could think of was how horribly lonely his one brain cell must be in the vast blackness he calls a brain. The fact that Jeffrey Beri of GeniusTravelPetPack.com discussed this very subject with Marc Ching. Beri told him "Marc it makes no sense at all, can you imagine opening a slaughter cage and trying to scan?" he went on "It's hard enough scanning my dogs that are rehabilitated .. and the police will not do it.. at all."Creating Headlines Is All That MattersAs with all things Marc Ching, he creates big headlines that always fall short on details. As an example, his fraudulent "History-Making Animal Activist Marc Ching" press release. In it, Ching claimed to have shut down the Gupo dog meat market. Please note, 6-months later the Gupo Dog Meat Market remains open. He promises they will come, but 'shockingly' they never seem to appear. He promises details will be posted later on his site, but 'shockingly' they never seem to appear. Needing a new 'Big Headline' he ignores facts and the reality of any given situation. As he did with his disastrous Yulin rescue, that resulted in 100's of dog deaths, he listens to no one. He ignored all the people with more years of experience telling him 'Don't buy dogs.' This time, however, they were saying 'Microchipping will not work' Caring little for details, the implementation, or sound advice, he launched his big "China Microchip Canine Initiative." The big press release was of course accompanied by another idiotic YouTube video and his infamous 'details later' comment.Details Will Be Posted Later... NOT!Marc Ching and His Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation announced their plans to implant up to 150,000 microchips in dogs. Ching explained, "Our microchip initiative will also concentrate on transport trucks headed for the upcoming Yulin Dog Meat Festival." He added, "HWF will be meeting with local governments to speak about initiative aspects." "We need cooperation in regards to creating checkpoints on various roads/highways leading into Yulin. All trucks transporting dogs will be stopped by designated authorities, where the dogs checked will be scanned for microchips." If any of the dogs are microchipped, we request the following actions: 1) The Driver of the truck carrying the microchipped dog(s) be arrested immediately for possession of stolen property. 2) The microchipped dog(s), identified through our database, be reunited with their family. 3) The trucks transporting any microchipped dog(s) be confiscated and re-routed to local rescue groups pre-approved by AHWF. Participating local groups will assume responsibility and care for the dogs. A little background On MicrochippingMicrochipping will not work in YulinTo understand the issues concerning microchips, it helps to know a little bit about how they work. Microchips are tiny electronic devices that are injected under the skin with a hypodermic needle. When a scanner is passed over a pet's skin, it emits Microchips are tiny electronic devices that are injected under the skin with a hypodermic needle. When a scanner is passed over a pet's skin, it emits radio frequencies that activate the chip. This transmits a unique identification number back to the scanner. The number is then compared against a database to locate the animal's owner. For an effective microchip system, all three parts have to work: The microchip needs to be in the right location and functioning. The scanner must be able to detect the chip. The database that links the chip number to the owner needs to be accurate and updated frequently.Microchip scanners may not work due to:
