Adorable picture show unlikely friendship between puppy and baby fawn rescued from death
Hansi the fawn was found by farmers in a hop field at just one week old and was adopted by their Australian Shepherd puppy Lia
Anyone who has seen Bambi will know their species are natural enemies - but that has not stopped a baby deer and a puppy from forming a beautiful friendship.
The fawn was found abandoned in a hop field at just one week old and would certainly have died had she not been taken in by German farmers.
She was named Hansi by the family and was immediately adopted by Lia, their 12-week-old Australian Shepherd puppy.
Pet photographer and microbiologist Anna Auerbach, 28, was lucky enough to capture the pair's special bond on camera.
Ms Auerbach, who is also from Regensburg, said: "The two of them get along really well.
"Hansi sees Lia and the other dogs she is being brought up with as family.
