E
scaped lion on sheep killing spreeBy Megan Ellis
Cape Town - The young male lion which escaped from the Karoo National Park is still on the loose - and it has quite the appetite.
The lion escaped under one of the park's fences on June 5 and has been heading towards Fraserburg, SANParks said in a statement.
Meanwhile a farmer reported seeing lion spoor on his land. However the lion has evaded capture and was not lured by the bait set out for him.
According to the Cape Times, relatives of a young farmer near the park's border said on Facebook that eight of his ewes were killed by the lion.
It is suspected that the three-year-old lion was forced out of the park by other older males.
The search is ongoing.
