Man Who Buried Dog Alive Never counted on a Hero and His Dog To Save the Day
By Dominick Mezzapesa - Wildlife Planet
Earlier this month, in a seemingly unthinkable act, someone buried a dog alive under a mound of dirt and rocks. In spite of of the person clear intention to end this poor dogs life, it refused to go quietly into that good night. This heinous act showed us all the worst of humanity, something animal lovers have become all too often to familiar with when day after day another horrid poaching story unfolds. But unlike many of these "Worst of humanity" stories this time Human kindness has triumphed over evil. |

Pedro Dinis was walking his dog near his house in the suburbs of Paris, France, when to his shock, made a sickening discovery.
What he witnessed was a dog buried alive and clinging to life. "Only her head was visible and it was difficult to see given the amount of earth covering her," Dinis wrote on his Facebook page, adding that he was just "in the right place at the right time to save a life."
Dinis witnessing the dire scene in front of him, sprung into action and even received some much needed help from the dog he was walking. The two, using hands and paws as tools, set about to free the dog from what would have been her early grave.
The gruesome site became even more sickening when Dinis discovered that whomever heartlessly placed this dog in this makeshift crypt, the coward intentions were clear, the person wanted to make sure the dog never had a chance.
What Dinis had discovered was, on top of being buried alive, the dog was also tied down with a thick rope.
Slowly but surely, Dinis managed to free the trapped pooch from the ground, once freed he offered his water to her.
The dog has since been sent to an animal hospital where she is recovering from dehydration and shock. Thankfully, the dog's life is reportedly no longer in danger.
Finding the person responsible for this cruel act might have been impossible had the dog not been carrying one significant clue.
According to Le Parisian, a tattoo was found on her body which led police investigators to her owner, who surprise, surprise claims the dog had run away.
Considering the dog is 10 years old and suffers from arthritis, authorities determined that explanation was "not very plausible" and charged the owner with animal cruelty.
If convicted, the dog's owner faces two years in prison, and fines of over $30,000.
